After last week’s performance by students of the “Sarajevo High School of Music”, pupils of the Elementary School “Kiseljak 1” from Bilalovac performed today on the promenade in front of the Ministry within the “European Heritage Day 2024” programme.

Led by the school principal Nermin Merhemić and teachers Zijad Hasić, Admir Šatar, Zehra Šljivo, Sadeta Hodžić, Fatima Stomornjak and Emina Đelilović, the talented pupils presented the work and activities of their school, as well as of the Drama, Literary, Art and Music groups.

At the beginning of the programme, numerous guests on the promenade were greeted by the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević: “When I see so many young people on the promenade, so many bright faces and positive energy around us, I feel really happy. I want to believe that today’s programme of the Elementary School “Kiseljak 1” will be an occasion and a motive for all other schools to participate in our programme. You are a motivational story and an indicator of what it means to invest imagination, creativity and great effort in everything you do,” said minister Vlaisavljević.

The Director of the “Kiseljak 1” school, Nermin Merhemić, addressed the guests and sent a message of unity, peace and togetherness: “I would like to express my gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, to the minister and her colleagues for the invitation and the given opportunity to show how hard we have been working in our little Kiseljak. Our children just need to be given an opportunity to show their talents and then they will certainly not be going anywhere from our beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina. Every child should be shown how much they are worth and they will know how to give it back. We do not make any differences and we do accept all differences”, said Director Merhemić. He then presented minister Vlaisavljević with a symbolical gift from the school from Kiseljak, and the Romani-German-Bosnian dictionary, which, as the Director proudly pointed out, was made by the teachers and students of this school.

Next Wednesday, on 29 May 2024, the students of the Hadžići High School Centre will be guests of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, and will present on the promenade what makes their school special.
