On Monday, 27 October 2025, the concert titled “An Evening of Croatian Song in BiH” was held in the ceremonial atmosphere of the Army Hall of Bosnia and Herzegovina in organisation of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports. The concert, filled with emotion, brought together numerous performers, guests, and lovers of musical heritage.
The evening began with a festive welcome by the Čapljina majorettes, who greeted guests with smiles and grace, creating an atmosphere worthy of a cultural celebration. The moderators, Sanja Pehar and Pavle Pavićević, guided the audience on a musical journey through landscapes, emotions, and identity – from the plains of Slavonia to the Dalmatian coast, from the rugged terrain of Herzegovina to Bosnian rivers.
Among the audience were the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH, H.E. Ivan Sabolić, Reverend Dr. Ivan Rako representing Archbishop Mons. Dr. Tomo Vukšić, and numerous representatives of all levels of government and cultural institutions. The evening was opened by the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević, who emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity through music.
The programme was a true ode to Croatian song. Slavonia resonated through Ne dirajte mi ravnicu and U san mi dođu tambure, while Dalmatian emotions were expressed in ballads like Pismo ćali, Da te mogu pismom zvati, and Kalelarga. Herzegovina spoke through Moja Hercegovina and Na kamenu rođen, and Central Bosnia through powerful messages in Bosno zemljo, hrvatska grudo and Vjeruj u ljubav.
Performers, including Hrvatska glazba Mostar, Klapa Grga, Lašvanske dive, VIS Fortissimo, Viteški akordi, Stjepan Lach, Ana Marija Krezić, Magdalena Bogić, Ivana, Marta and Sofija Šaravanja, Tomislav Perić, and Josipa Bošnjak conveyed deep emotions through their voices and interpretations.
The audience responded with enthusiastic applause for all performers, with special recognition for Klapa Grga, who continued singing at the reception that followed after the official programme.
The “Evening of Croatian Song in BiH” reaffirmed its value as a cultural event that nurtures musical tradition, fosters unity, and leaves a lasting impression across generations. In a time that calls for more dialogue and understanding, such gatherings remind us of the vital role of art in connecting people and preserving cultural diversity.
