The French Institute in Sarajevo marked the completion of the international project “Digital Traveling Museum for the Balkans” (Micro-Folie), implemented with the support of the European Union and UNESCO. The Director of the Institute, Loe Lagrange, emphasized the importance of digital culture and the accessibility of art to all.
Over the course of four years, the project has connected cultural institutions and organizations in the region, and digital content and video materials will enable children and young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina to explore collections and exhibits from the most famous French museums, as well as works of European and Balkan heritage in digital form, without physically visiting museums. The Museum of the 90s was also presented in particular, which, through digital materials, brings the period of recent history and cultural transformation of the Balkans closer to young people.
In this way, culture is getting closer to the community, becoming more accessible and inclusive, confirming that art can build bridges and connect people.
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the ceremonial presentation was attended by Anita Vlašić.
