Contracts Worth KM 480,000 Signed for the Restoration and Protection of Cultural and Architectural Heritage

At the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, contracts worth KM 480,000 have been signed for the restoration and protection of cultural and architectural heritage.

Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević today signed contracts at the Ministry’s headquarters with representatives of 12 parishes and Franciscan monasteries from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for projects aimed at safeguarding, restoring, and preserving cultural and architectural heritage.

Funds in the total amount of 480,000 KM have been allocated through capital transfers to non-profit organizations, intended for construction, adaptation, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of facilities that represent an important part of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cultural-historical heritage.

The contracts were signed by representatives of the Parish of the Holy Trinity Novo Sarajevo, Parish of St. Anthony of Padua Vukanovići, Parish of St. Anthony of Padua Bugojno, Parish of the Holy Name of Mary Donji Svilaj, Parish of St. Elijah the Prophet Doljani, Parish of St. Matthew the Evangelist Mostar, Parish of St. Joseph the Worker Domanovići, Franciscan Monastery of St. Catherine Kreševo, Franciscan Monastery of St. Luke Jajce, Franciscan Monastery Fojnica, Parish of St. Joseph Drvar, Parish of St. Elijah the Prophet Grahovo, and Parish of St. George the Martyr Vitez.

Minister Vlaisavljević emphasized that religious sites and monasteries are an inseparable part of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cultural identity, and that their preservation represents an investment in the shared cultural heritage and historical memory.

“The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports continues to provide support to projects that contribute to the preservation of cultural and architectural heritage, fully aware of their value for local communities as well as for the overall cultural landscape of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the Minister.

The implementation of these projects will improve conditions for the preservation of numerous sites of cultural, historical, and spiritual significance, thereby continuing long-term care for the protection of heritage for future generations.
