Third Edition of the Project “Women Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina – SOLIDARITY” Held

The third edition of the project “Women Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina – SOLIDARITY,” organized by the Association for Art and Culture BEA, took place on October 10, 2026, at the French Institute in Sarajevo.

The programme brought together women artists and participants from the cultural sector with the aim of increasing the visibility of women artists, fostering intergenerational dialogue, and reflecting on the status of art in contemporary society. Through discussions and the exchange of experiences, the event addressed issues surrounding artistic creation, professional challenges, and the ways in which the work of women artists is valued and represented within art history and art criticism.
This year’s edition, dedicated to the theme of solidarity, highlighted the importance of mutual support, professional dialogue, and the preservation and documentation of artistic work as an integral part of the cultural memory and identity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project seeks to create a space for connecting women artists, exchanging knowledge and experience, and bringing the contemporary art scene closer to the general public. Furthermore, the initiative contributes to the development of an art scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina that is more visible, better connected, and more effectively documented.
