Organized by Special Olympics Europe Eurasia and Special Olympics Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with the International Judo Federation, the “Special Olympics Judo Open Sarajevo 2026” officially opened in Sarajevo on 25 September 2026. The event featured 130 athletes from 20 countries, including six national team members from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hosting this event in Sarajevo marked a significant milestone in the development of adaptive judo and reaffirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s increasingly prominent role in international inclusive sports.
