Representatives of the Public Enterprise for Management and Maintenance of Sports Facilities in Zenica, the Sports-Cultural-Economic Centre “Mejdan” and the Public Enterprise “Olympic Pool of the Island” Sarajevo: Edin Buševac, Nedim Talić, Feđa Jovanović, Jasenko Elezović, Avdija Hasanović and Alem Hadžibeganović visited on 15 May 2024 the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.
After Minister Vlaisavljević’s welcome speech, the guests expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to talk about the numerous problems they had been facing, especially considering that the fact that it was the first time that a minister from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina agreed to receive them and listen to what they had to say.
The representatives of the three centres pointed out that their financial situation worsened after the Corona-virus pandemic, considering that the centres were closed in that period and consequently, they accumulated large expenses. That is how cultural centres, sports centres and cultural-sports centres from the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina came to an idea to found the Association of Sports and Cultural Centres with the aim of jointly detecting the key common problems and delegating them to competent institutions in order to try to find models for systemic problem-solving.
Minister Vlaisavljević welcomed the idea of the guests from Sarajevo, Tuzla and Zenica to try together to find a way to solve financial problems, and promised that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports would be open to all advice and help in finding adequate models for cultural, sports and cultural-sports centres in FBiH survive and perform the planned activities at full capacity.
