Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports hosted an official visit for a delegation from the Muay Thai Federation and members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team who achieved historic success at the recently concluded World Championship.

The World Championship took place in Gjakova (Republic of Kosovo) from September 1 to September 11, 2026. At this competition, our national team wrote a new chapter in the history of the sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina by winning the first-ever World Championship medals since the Federation’s inception.

During the meeting, Ministry representatives extended sincere congratulations to the young athletes, the coaching staff, and the Federation’s leadership for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding results, through which they represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best possible light on the international stage.

The guests shared their impressions of the competition—during which an official press conference was also held in Sarajevo—and expressed their gratitude for the reception and the recognition of this historic achievement for Muay Thai in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ministry representatives emphasized that the Ministry would continue, within the limits of its capabilities, to support the work of successful sports organizations and the development of promising athletes who represent their country in the best possible way.
