On the initiative of Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević, a meeting was organised today in the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports with the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, the coach of the “Spid” Swimming Club, Amel Kapo, and the Assistant Minister for Sports, Adnan Džindo.
Namely, after Minister Vlasiavljević received last week in the Ministry the paraswimming representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ismail Barlov and Ismail Zulfić, who achieved excellent sports results in the past period and have been training hard for the upcoming competitive season and the Paralympic Games, it was concluded that they actually had to be financially supported in order to be able to participate in the upcoming sports competitions.
The coach of our Paralympic swimmers, Amel Kapo, presented the plans for the year 2024, and the project titled “Competitive Season 2024, European Championship and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 – Ismail Barlov and Ismail Zulfić”.
Minister Vlaisavljević pointed out that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports would take all necessary steps to ensure that the boys could participated in the upcoming biggest sports competitions without a financial burden. Minister Magoda decided to provide full support on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton.
At today’s meeting, the financial support was agreed for the aforementioned Project that would cover the whole competition year. Furthermore, an initiative would be sent to the City of Sarajevo and the City Council to enable Ismail Barlov and Ismail Zulfić to train at the Otoka Olympic Pool free of charge, when preparing for the most important Paralympic competitions.
The Otoka Olympic Pool is under the authority of the City, so that most successful Paralympians can be given free use of the pool on the basis of the City decision. In that manner, the golden boys may be encouraged to bring another gold medal, this time from Paris.
Minister Vlaisavljević and Minister Magoda also agreed on the next steps in order to help the best through their cooperation.
