Media conference of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports on Key Results and Strategic Directions of Action Held Today

At today’s press conference of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, an overview was presented of the audit report for 2025, the allocation of budget funds by transfers in 2026, implemented projects and achievements of the FMCS in 2026, the activities of the Youth Council, as well as issues of inclusivity both in principle and through implemented projects. The first-ever selection process in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2026 was also announced.

At the beginning of the conference, it was emphasized that the 2025 audit report represents an important tool for improving the work of the institution, strengthening transparency, and ensuring responsible and efficient management of public funds. It was highlighted that the Ministry continuously works on implementing audit recommendations, with the aim of further improving administrative and financial processes.

Special focus was placed on the allocation of budget funds by transfers in 2026, with emphasis on increased funding for culture, sports, and youth as strategically important areas for the development of society in the Federation of BiH. It was underlined that these measures continue to strengthen institutional support for projects contributing to cultural, sports, and social development. It was also noted that this is the first positive audit report in the entire reporting history of the Audit Office of Institutions in the Federation of BiH since its establishment.

Implemented projects and achievements in 2026 were presented, with emphasis on greater efficiency, wider accessibility of programs, and strengthened inclusivity. The role of the Youth Council of FBiH was particularly highlighted, aiming to involve young people in decision-making processes and to create space for their initiatives and active participation in society.

Furthermore, within this year’s Sports Transfer, the Ministry introduced a new, special program line aimed at directly supporting excellence in top-level sports. This is a dedicated program supporting sports clubs whose athletes achieved historic results and won medals at world championships held during 2025 and early 2026. Financial resources within this subprogram are intended for preparations and competitions of elite athletes at international events, as well as for improving training processes, modernizing equipment, and ensuring continuity of top results.

A total of 475 user applications were approved under public calls by transfers, with only 13 appeals received across all transfers regarding the results of the public call.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry’s goal is to continue strengthening transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, while further empowering the sectors of culture, sports, and youth through stable and strategically oriented support.

At the end of the conference, a message of support was extended to the national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina:

“I wish our boys the best of luck tonight. They are already the pride of our country. I believe in their strength, unity, and passion. Regardless of the result, they are our winners, and I wish them to give their maximum on the field,” said the Minister.
