Institute for the Protection of Monuments: Regular conservatory supervision of the reconstruction works at the Neretva Hotel in Mostar

The last, 3rd, renovation phase of the Neretva Hotel began in mid-2023 and will last until the beginning of 2025. As in the previous two phases, the works are carried out by the Građevinar Fajić d.o.o. construction company from Mostar, based on project documentation prepared by the Grupa-Arh d.o.o. from Sarajevo.

The Neretva Hotel, which is today a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was built in the pseudo-Moorish style at the end of the 19th century. The hotel was severely damaged during the last war, whereby the large part of the building collapsed. The first two phases of the renovation were completed in the period from 2018 to 2019. Special attention is devoted to the preserved original structures of the facade (the facade and the eastern “tower”) that are decorated with rich decorative plastic.
