On Monday, 20 April 2026, the preliminary design for the reconstruction and revitalization of the “Old Railway Station Ilidža” was presented in the hall of the Ilidža Municipality.

In addition to representatives of the Ilidža Municipality, the presentation was also attended by representatives of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and representatives of the design company “URBING” d.o.o. from Sarajevo.

The Municipality of Ilidža entrusted the development of the project documentation to the design company “URBING” d.o.o. from Sarajevo, which developed and submitted the project documentation within the given deadline.

The preliminary design was developed according to the project terms of reference of the expert team of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments, which was involved in the development through working meetings. This cooperation defined the basic concept of preservation, the new functional role and materialization of this valuable cultural and historical heritage object.

After the presentation, the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, emphasized that the reconstruction of the Old Railway Station has a special significance for the cultural and social development of the local community.

The design company “URBING” d.o.o. will begin the development of the main project for the reconstruction of the “Old Railway Station”, as the next phase of the project documentation, and continue coordination with the expert team of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments.
