On 24 September 2026, Hanadin Basarić, a representative of the Youth Sector at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, visited the “Eufonija” Citizens’ Association to monitor the implementation of the project “The Future of Diversity – 8th International Accordion Festival ‘Sevdalinko, harmonikom opjevana'” (Sevdalinka Sung to the Accordion).

By the time of the visit, a significant portion of the planned preparatory, organizational, international, and promotional activities had been carried out. A project and organizational team was formed, and the program concept, implementation timeline, and international expert jury were defined. Continuous communication was established with young participants, professors, music educators, music schools, partners, and other collaborators involved in the project’s implementation.

As part of the project’s international and regional components, pre-qualification activities for young accordionists were held in Bela Crkva, Serbia, on May 10, 2026, and in Vienna, Austria, on August 23, 2026. These activities enabled young accordionists to showcase their artistic potential, exchange experiences, and connect with peers, professors, educators, and musicians from other regions.

The pre-qualifications also served as a crucial element of international cooperation and preparation for the final stage of the Festival. Promotional activities are being carried out concurrently via social media and other digital channels through the publication of photos, video content, announcements, and project information. At the time of the visit, the registration and selection of participants for the final phase of the program were underway, alongside organizational and technical preparations for upcoming activities.

Plans for the coming period include educational workshops, masterclass programs, the HarmoniKA Lab, and the Cultural Resilience Lab, offering young people the opportunity to further develop their artistic, creative, communication, and other competencies. Preparations are also being made for the final competitive and public program, which will integrate the project’s artistic, educational, and competitive components, bringing together young accordionists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.

The project’s implementation to date has enabled young people to develop artistic skills, gain new experiences, establish international connections, and actively participate in cultural activities. At the same time, the project contributes to promoting musical art and creating a space for collaboration among young people from diverse backgrounds.

This visit is part of the monitoring process for projects supported by youth-oriented funding, aimed at ensuring transparency, the responsible use of allocated funds, and an assessment of the results achieved by the supported projects.
