The Cinematography Foundation informed the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports about joining the Council of Europe Pilot Programme for Co-production of European Drama Series “Television Series Support Scheme II”, which is implemented within the EUROIMAGES fund. This important step represents a new opportunity for the development of the domestic audiovisual industry and strengthening international cooperation in the field of television content production.
The programme is aimed at encouraging high-quality European drama series through support for international co-productions, with the aim of improving creative diversity, cultural exchange and competitiveness of European audiovisual production. By joining this programme, producers from Bosnia and Herzegovina will have the opportunity to participate in projects that bring together partners from different European countries, with access to additional financial resources and professional cooperation networks.
The Pilot Programme “Television Series Support Scheme II” is part of the efforts of the Council of Europe and the EUROIMAGES fund to respond to the growing importance of television series as one of the most influential forms of contemporary audiovisual creation. By supporting innovative and high-quality projects, the programme contributes to the creation of content that reflects European values, cultural diversity and a common creative space.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to this Council of Europe pilot programme began on 21 August 2024, when the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, signed the Act of Accession with the Council of Europe.
At its session held on 29 April 2026, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision granting consent to the Cinematography Foundation to sign a financing agreement for the project “Television Series Support Scheme II”, which is implemented by the Council of Europe. This decision mandates the Cinematography Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Federal Ministry of Finance to plan and secure the necessary funds in the amount of EUR 150,000 for the implementation of the Financing Agreement for the project “Television Series Support Scheme II” for 2027.
For the payment of the first part of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s financial obligation, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has provided the Cinematography Foundation with 300,000.00 KM from the additional dividend of BH Telecom.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to this program represents an important step forward in the international affirmation of the domestic audiovisual industry and an additional incentive for the development of the production of television series that can compete on the European and global markets.
