Action Plan of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports: Visit to the Museum of the Second Session of AVNOJ

As part of the Action Plan for visits to beneficiaries of approved funding, on 9 October 2026, Mediha Vrućak-Hadžiabdić, an official of the Ministry’s Culture Sector, conducted a monitoring visit regarding the implementation of the project “2nd AVNOJ FEST”, carried out by the beneficiary Museum of the Second Session of AVNOJ and supported by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The monitoring visit established that preparatory and organizational activities for the “2nd AVNOJ FEST” are currently underway. The event is scheduled to take place in November 2026 to commemorate the anniversary of the Second Session of AVNOJ held in Jajce. Project activities are focused on organizing the event and creating the necessary conditions for its successful implementation.

During the monitoring visit, financial documentation relating to costs incurred in the preparation and organization of the project was reviewed. It was determined that the approved financial resources had been used for their intended purpose, namely for activities directly related to the implementation of the project scheduled for November. Upon completion of the project, the beneficiary will prepare and submit a financial report on the implementation of the project to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, in accordance with its contractual obligations and no later than the end of 2026.

The “2nd AVNOJ FEST” plays an important role in preserving, promoting, and fostering cultural and historical heritage, while also safeguarding the memory of significant events in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. By staging this project in Jajce, the town where the Second Session of AVNOJ was held on 29 November 1943, the importance of preserving historical heritage and passing it on to younger generations is further emphasized.

Projects of this kind contribute to raising awareness of the significance of cultural and historical heritage, encourage public interest in learning about historical events, and promote the values of solidarity, mutual respect, and cultural dialogue. At the same time, the organization of the event enriches cultural life, strengthens the recognition of Jajce as a town with a rich cultural and historical tradition, and reinforces the role of museums as important institutions in preserving collective memory, supporting education, and nurturing cultural values.
