On 10 September 2026, Hanadin Basarić, a representative of the Youth Department of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, visited the Sports Association “Student” Volleyball Club Mostar with the aim of monitoring the implementation of the project entitled “Volleyball Tournament for Youth.”
As part of the project, a volleyball tournament was successfully organized and held from 29 to 30 August 2026, bringing together more than 200 participants. The tournament provided an opportunity for young female volleyball players to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through sports competition, gain new experiences, and establish connections with their peers from different communities.
During the implementation of the project, all planned activities were carried out successfully. The preparatory phase included the organization and technical preparation of the competition, coordination of participants and teams, as well as the engagement of the necessary professional and technical staff. Referees and scorekeepers were appointed to ensure the smooth running of the tournament, while the reception of teams was organized in accordance with the planned tournament programme.
A special segment of the activities focused on the promotion of the tournament through social media and local media outlets. In this way, the public was informed about the event, its significance, and the participation of young athletes. A formal opening ceremony was also organized, followed by the competition matches, while the project concluded with final activities and the official closing of the tournament.
According to the Club President, Amir Žujo, the implementation of the project achieved its primary objective, namely the further promotion of volleyball among young people and encouraging their more active involvement in sports activities. At the same time, the project enabled young female volleyball players to develop their sporting skills through competition, gain valuable experience, and meet peers from different communities.
The successful implementation of the tournament demonstrated that sports activities provide an important platform for the active engagement of young people, the development of team spirit, mutual networking, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. Through the organization of events of this kind, young people are given the opportunity to spend their free time in a meaningful and constructive way while simultaneously developing their sporting and social competencies.
During the visit, the Association submitted part of the invoices and supporting documentation required to justify the implementation of the completed activities. The remaining documentation, including the financial report and complete supporting records, will be submitted in the coming period.
This visit forms part of the activities aimed at monitoring the implementation of projects supported through funds allocated for youth programmes, with the objective of ensuring transparency, the responsible use of allocated funds, and insight into the results achieved through the supported projects.
