Real sports competition begins only when opponents respect each other.
The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports joins the celebration of World Fair Play Day, which is celebrated every year with the aim of promoting the value of fair and honorable sports behavior. Fair play is not only about the rules of the game, fair play is a principle of life that encourages mutual respect, solidarity and togetherness.
Sport is a powerful tool for connecting people, and it is fair play that gives it its real strength: learning about tolerance, accepting diversity and building trust. On the field, in the hall or at the stadium, fair play means respecting the opponent, referees and the audience, as well as one’s own values.
By celebrating World Fair Play Day, we remind you that victory has no meaning if it is not achieved honorably. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, numerous sports clubs and associations join this initiative through educational workshops, tournaments and campaigns that emphasize the importance of sportsmanship and ethics.
The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports calls on all athletes, coaches and fans to set an example of fair play through their behavior, because only such a sport remains what it is – the most beautiful game that brings people together.
