A writer is not only a creator of words but also a guardian of memory and a builder of bridges between the past and the future.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports proudly marks World Writers’ Day, a day dedicated to creativity, written expression, and the art of words. This date reminds us of the invaluable role writers play in preserving cultural identity, transmitting knowledge, and shaping social values. Writers are guardians of language and thought, and their works remain lasting witnesses of the time in which they were created, thus forming a bridge between past and future, between the individual and the community.
On this day, we extend special gratitude to the writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose works contribute to the diversity of world literature and represent our country on the international stage.
The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports will continue, as it has until now, to support literary creativity, the affirmation of young authors, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Let World Writers’ Day be a reminder that words have power—that they connect us, inspire us, and lead us toward a better society.
A writer is a witness, and every book is a testimony of its time.
