On 21 March 2025, the signing ceremony of the first Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Federation of BiH and the fundamental cultural organisations of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The agreement was signed by presidents of the fundamental cultural organisations: Sanjin Kodrić, Bosniak Cultural Community, Nikola Čiča, Croatian Cultural Society “Napredak”, Nedeljko Masleš, Serbian Educational and Cultural Society “Prosvjeta” and Vladimir Andrle, Jewish Cultural, Educational and Humanitarian Society “La Benevolencija”.

This historic agreement is the first of such kind signed at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, establishing systematic institutional support for the work of these organisations and their contribution to the preservation of cultural heritage.

According to the signatories, the signing of this Agreement has restored dignity to the fundamental organisations of culture for the first time, which represents the largest and most significant step forward so far in systematically resolving their status as key bearers of the culture of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As the fundamental bearers of the cultural life and identity of the people of BiH, these organisations, through their long tradition, play a key role in the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, education and art. The Agreement establishes for the first time a permanent framework for cooperation and support for their activities, thereby strengthening the cultural diversity and richness of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports thanks all signatories for their commitment and looks forward to the implementation of this important Agreement through joint projects and initiatives.
