Assistant Minister Adis Salkić participated in the two-day conference titled ”Strengthening Youth Resilience to Organised Crime and Corruption in South-Eastern Europe“, organized by the OSCE and Global Initiative Against Trans-national Organised Crime.
The participants of this Conference, held on 6-7 June 2023 in Skopje, Northern Macedonia, had an opportunity to work in the plenary part of the Conference, as well as in working groups, where the panellists – representatives of governmental and non-governmental organisations from Germany, Italy, Moldova, Greece and countries of South-Eastern Europe presented best practices from their countries.
Assistant Minister Salkić participated in three working groups, the first one being about the joint work of participants from the origin country, then the group composed of representatives of related fields and in the group about regional cooperation.
The Skopje event was a marvellous opportunity for the participants from various countries to discuss youth crime from the point of view of its prevention and work with problematic groups among young people.
The general conclusion of the Conference is that this area is one of the key areas related to policies towards young people and which should be treated through inter-sectoral cooperation of competent institutions. Given that the same risks and challenges are faced by all countries in the region, the need for continuing regional cooperation with the aim of exchanging experience and improving activities in the aforementioned area was emphasized.
