Today, the Federal Minister of Culture and Sports hosted Arma Tanović Branković, Associate Professor at the Academy of Performing Arts of the University of Sarajevo, and Dean Lejla Panjeta.
The representatives of the Academy expressed their gratitude to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports for its continuous support, emphasizing the importance of grants that enable the mobility of artists employed at the Academy, participation in international projects, and the exchange of experiences. They highlighted that such funding is crucial for the development of artistic and educational work and that institutions and individuals rightly compete intensively for these grants.
Special thanks were extended to the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports for the grant of BAM 500,000 allocated for the renovation of the new building of the Academy of Performing Arts.
The Minister underlined that each grant carries its own story and that behind every support lies a long and demanding process requiring full compliance with procedures, ensuring that funds are awarded transparently and in accordance with legal regulations.
Dean Lejla Panjeta stressed that the Academy continues to grow and develop through new study programs and modern educational content.
“From visual communications to the fields of camera and editing, we are developing attractive master’s programs and striving to open the Academy to a wider circle of students. Our vision is for the Academy not to be recognized solely for acting, but as a modern artistic and educational institution bringing together diverse disciplines,” Panjeta emphasized.
The meeting also addressed the implementation of the new Academy building project, for which support of around BAM 4 million is expected from the Sarajevo Canton. It was noted that the Academy has grown year after year, both in student numbers and in the scope of teaching and artistic activities, and that the project is now in its final phase, which will enable relocation to the new premises.
It was particularly emphasized that the Academy today brings together students from across the region, which represents one of its greatest values and confirms its reputation as a regional center of artistic education.
