Report from a field visit to the Visoko Heritage Museum: Works started on the exhibition space

Following the project of replacing the external joinery/windows and conserving the entrance door of the Visoko Heritage Museum, on 16 September 2025, works in the interior/exhibition space officially began. The planned works include replacing electrical installations, flooring, and making and installing display cases for the Museum exhibitions.

Representatives of the Museum, City of Visoko, Institute for the Monuments’ Protection of of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, contractors and supervisory authorities attended the inspection of the current state of the exhibition space and the agreement on the method of carrying out the works. The Institute further emphasized the need for careful execution of the works and minimal impact on the construction of the walls, and proposed measures to protect the original interior elements: internal joinery/doors, preserved external doors and painted ceiling. Preparatory works were agreed upon, and the dynamics and estimated completion date of the works were presented.

Funds for the implementation of the works were provided by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports (from the Capital Transfer to Other Levels of Government and Funds – Construction, Adaptation and Reconstruction of Cultural Institutions) and the Visoko City Administration. The Institute for the Monuments’ Protection will carry out occasional conservation and restoration supervision over the execution of works inside the Museum.
