The ceremony of unveiling a plaque in recognition of Baščaršija as a part of the European film treasure on the plateau in front of the Sarajevo City Hall was held on Sunday, with which act, the Old Town of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina was included on the map of the most important film locations in Europe.
On this occasion, Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Film Workers’ Association, Nermin Hamzagić, Vice President of the Board of Directors, Elma Tataragić, Secretary General, Melina Alagić and the entire team of the Association:
“Dear Sirs,
on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and on my pesonal behalf, I am sending my warmest congratulations to the entire, hard-working team of the Association of Film Workers in FBiH, headed by you. Thanks to your efforts and enthusiasm, the gem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Baščaršija, has been declared the new Treasure of European film culture.
The fact that with this recognition and with unveiling of the plaque that proves Baščaršija’s status as a European film treasure of the European Film Academy, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be permanently marked on the map of the most important film locations in Europe is impressive and worthy of praise.
We wish you and the entire team much success in your work and numerous awards in the future,” – minister Vlaisavljević said.
