On 2 April 2025, the BiH national team member in short track speed skating, Tarik Omeragić, and his mother, President of the Skating Club “Bosnia”, Sabrina Bojo-Omeragić, visited the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports. 

Tarik recently returned from the World Senior Championship in Beijing, where he had set a new state record in the 500 meters. Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević welcomed him to the Ministry at the beginning of the conversation and congratulated him on his successful presentation in China.

Tarik expressed his gratitude for the support of the Ministry and the congratulations of Minister Vlaisavljević on the occasion of breaking the state record, emphasising how much understanding means to a young athlete on the sometimes challenging sports path.

Furthermore, Tarik presented his impressions from the World Championships and announced continuation of preparations in Turkey and the Netherlands for the qualification for the Winter Olympic Games to be held in Italy in 2026.

Minister Vlaisavljević wished Tarik success in the future on ice rinks around the world and emphasised that the doors of the Ministry were always open to him, with the hope that BiH’s greatest successes in skating sports are yet to come.
