On 30 and 31 January 2024, meetings were held in the Assembly of the City of East Sarajevo as a part of the UNESCO project “Improving Culture Statistics”. On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, Marko Francešević from the Culture Division participated in the meetings.

The topics discussed were the revision of statistical forms for Archives and movie theatres, as well as for publishing activities. The main purpose of the meeting was to improve the quality of data for these cultural domains, taking into account the existing situation in cultural institutions, current legislation at all governmental levels and needs for international reporting (EUROSTAT, UIS, OECD).

It was emphasised to the organiser that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports was always available for additional help in order to improve the statistics in these fields and make the job of reporting simpler, easier and more accurate.
