On 11 November 2025, a meeting was held in the premises of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports with representatives of the Association of Athletic Veterans of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Association President Ekrem Jakupović, General Secretary Zoran Dedić and national team selector Islam Đuguma. On behalf of the Ministry, the meeting was attended by the Head of the Minister’s Office Anita Vlašić and Expert Advisor for Sports Facilities Alma Kurtalić.

The representatives of the Association informed the Ministry about the past activities and numerous successes of athletic veterans at international competitions, which significantly contribute to the promotion of sports and the reputation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the region and the world. Challenges related to outdated sports infrastructure were also highlighted.

Association representatives also presented a proposal to include the category of sports veterans in the Ministry’s public calls, in order to provide financial support to this population of sportsmen and additionally affirm their work on the international scene.
