The Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević, sent her condolences on the occasion of the fire that occurred on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at the Retirement Home in Tuzla:

Deeply shaken by the news of the fire with tragic consequences that yesterday engulfed the Retirement Home in Tuzla and claimed a large number of lives, I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to all who mourn their loved ones.

In these moments of sadness and disbelief, my thoughts are with all those injured, as well as with the brave members of the rescue services who selflessly acted to help the victims. Their dedication and humanity deserve deep respect.

This painful tragedy reminds us of the importance of togetherness, solidarity and care for the most vulnerable among us. May it inspire us to build a society with even greater responsibility in which the safety and dignity of every human being are fundamental values.
