On 16 September 2025, the professional staff of the Institute for Monuments Protection conducted an insight into the current state of the archaeological site, called Ograja in Putovići near Zenica, as well as the interventions of the proposed construction of an access road to an individual residential building on a neighboring plot. The staff of the Institute were also on the field with employees of the Zenica City Museum and employees of the Zenica City Urban Planning Service. The aforementioned site is owned by the State Property – Museum and is managed by the Zenica City Museum.
After the site inspection, it was established that the archaeological site was located on a terrain that was depressed in relation to the surrounding land. In the southeastern part of the plot on which the archaeological site is located, on cadastral plot 849, the Cadastral Municipality of Perin Han, it is visible that the depression has been improved by laying several layers of asphalt. The archaeological site consists of several stone structures, made up of separate rooms, the remains of the water supply and drainage system, masonry arched structures, the bases of pillars which are assumed to be the remains of Roman thermal baths.
It was established that the archaeological site was fenced and that an access road had already been built along the southern edge of the plot of land. 849, the Cadastral Municipality of Perin Han, laid directly next to the stone structure of the apse, and for which the Institute did not receive a request for an expert opinion.
On the archaeological site itself, between the stone structures, there are remains of nylon and waste. According to the state of the fence, vegetation and the amount of waste, it is evident that the archaeological site has not been continuously maintained, and according to the state of the stone structures, it has been determined that conservation and restoration measures are necessary.
The Institute’s expert opinion is that on the plot of land no. 849. No interventions are allowed in Perin Han or in its immediate vicinity that could endanger or devastate the archeological site of Ograja.
