First time in the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports: Joint meeting of the members of the Association of Croatian Amateur Cultural and Artistic Societies in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UHAKUD in BiH)

On 27 November 2023, a joint meeting was organized for the first time in the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports of the members of the Association of Croatian Amateur Cultural and Artistic Societies in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UHAKUD in BiH) with the Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević.

The meeting was attended by the members of the UHAKUD Management Board, Marina Brzina and Vedran Vidović, and the representatives of the UHAKUD members: HKUD fra Karlo Kujundžić, HKUD Zora Struge-Gorica, KUD Rudine župa Vidoši Livno, HKUD “Gromiljak” Kiseljak, HKUD “Tamburica” ​​Koraće, Bosnia Posavina, DTKB Society, HKD Napredak, Bugojno Branch, HKD Napredak Kreševo, HKUD Rama, HKUD “Rodoč”, KUD “Stari hrast 2000” Novi Travnik, HKUD “Sv. Ante-Cim” Mostar, HKD “Napredak” Busovača Branch, HKUD “Luke” Čapljina-Višići, KPD “Matija Gubec” Bakovici-Fojnica, HKD “Vrila”, HKD Napredak Vitez Branch, KUD Mokro, HKUD “Gromovnik” Novi Šeher from Maglaj, HKUD Hercegovac and Davorija Association.

Minister Vlaisavljević welcomed all the UHAKUD members and pointed out that the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports was willing to support the work of the Association, according to its possibilities. She also expressed the hope that more similar meetings would follow in the Ministry.

The topics discussed at the meeting included difficulties and obstacles in the work of the UHAKUD, as well as plans for the upcoming period with the aim of presenting the Croat culture, not only at the local level, but also at the level of the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Since its foundation in 2000, the main goal of UHAKUD was to preserve the intangible cultural heritage of BiH Croats. The fundamental goal was expanded and amended throughout the years, so that today, in addition to taking care of the preservation of original costumes, tools, musical instruments and music, as well as dance and customs, the Association also aims to promote, protect and encourage various cultural, artistic, scientific and social programmes.
