As part of the action plan for visiting recipients of approved funding, Sanja Arnautović—Head of the Department for Cultural Institutions and Associations within the Culture Sector of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports—conducted a monitoring visit on 7 September 2026. The visit focused on the implementation of the “Ars Aevi Tour” project by the Public Institution “City Museums of Sarajevo,” a project supported by funds from the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The “Ars Aevi Tour” project aims to present and affirm contemporary art, as well as to promote the Ars Aevi art collection and highlight its significance within the cultural landscape of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through its planned program activities, the project contributes to bringing contemporary art closer to the general public, increasing the visibility of valuable artistic assets, and developing and promoting museum activities.

As the project implementation is scheduled for December 2026, a preparatory activity—an exhibition by Ilya Kabakov—had already been completed by the time of the monitoring visit, while the remaining project activities are set to be carried out in accordance with the established timeline.

During the monitoring visit, promotional materials related to the project activities conducted to date were reviewed.
Upon the completion of all project activities, the Public Institution “City Museums of Sarajevo” will submit the full financial documentation and a narrative report on the project’s implementation to the Ministry, in compliance with contractual obligations and prescribed deadlines.

The “Ars Aevi Tour” project contributes to the affirmation of contemporary art and the preservation and promotion of the valuable Ars Aevi art collection, as an important segment of the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to its greater accessibility and visibility in the domestic and international cultural space.
