Days of European Heritage 2025: Customs and Traditions of Kupres on the Promenade of Culture on this Wednesday

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, as a part of the celebration of the “Days of European Heritage 2025” on Wednesday, 16 July 2025, organised a presentation of the Municipality of Kupres on the Promenade of Culture.

The goal of this event, organised by the Ministry, was to bring closer the rich tradition and everyday life of the Kupres region through the presentation of old customs, authentic traditional harvesting, and tasting of famous local products: Kupres cheese, aronia juice, and other delicacies that testify to the value and uniqueness of this region.

At the very beginning, Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević greeted the guests from the Municipality of Kupres and welcomed them to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that she was happy that every Wednesday, towns, people and customs from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina take turn on the Promenade of Culture, which was the primary goal of the “Days of European Heritage” event.

The long-time Kupres radio host, Josip Ivić Rašo, also took the lead at the Sarajevo Promenade and presented the specifics of that region, introducing musical guests who delighted the guests at the Promenade: the women’s vocal group “Ivančice”, accordion soloist Ivona Čolić, flute soloist Marija Galić, the Youth Choir “Sveta obitelj Kupres” and the Kupres reaper, Josip Čiček, who practically demonstrated the traditions of reaping.

After the presentation of the programme of the guests from Kupres, there was a concert by the Sarajevo band “Domine”. Young musicians, Ema, Irnes and Natan played popular pop and rock songs and original music for almost two hours. They announced that their first studio album was yet to come, and what the guests at the Promenade unanimously concluded was that there was still more to be heard about this young band and their qualities!
