The Tourist Organisation “Čapljinka” from Čapljina performed on the Promenade of Culture on Wednesday, 6 November 2024 within the Days of European Heritage 2024 programme. According to their own words, with their activities and cooperation, “Čapljinka” truly describes this year’s topic “Roads, Connections, Networks”.
Numerous guests from Čapljina, as well as other guests, were at the beginning of the performance greeted by the federal minister of culture and sports, Sanja Vlaisavljević:
“It is really such a huge joy and honour to welcome a big delegation from Čapljina that includes, in addition to the performers, also high-ranked officials from this town, what clearly tells us that the town of Čapljina has a true understanding for culture, art and promotion of their activities. The Čapljina majorettes are with us today, who are well-known not only in our country, but also in the world. The Carnival Queen honoured us with her presence too… Well, dear Čapljina, welcome! I truly believe that this is only our first encounter, certainly not the last“, said minister Vlaisavljević.
The cultural-artistic, dancing and carnival groups of the Tourist Organisation “Čapljinka“ have visited many carnivals and international conventions so far. This time, they presented their skills to the large audience in the city on the Miljacka River. The female singing group of the Croat Cultural Society “Seljačka sloga“ Trebižat performed the traditional songs from Trebižat – ganga, brojkavac and bećarac.
Members of the “Seljačka sloga“, the society with the hundred-year long tradition, presented the traditional dance “Lindžo”, traditional dances of the Western Herzegovina, the concluding dance from the opera “Ero from That World”, and traditional songs bećarac and ganga.
The Čapljina majorettes, who have been awarded at the most prestigious competitions all around the world, attracted special attention at the Promenade.
The President of the Tourist Organisation “Čapljinka“, Ivan Raguž, arrived to the promenade of Culture as well. In addition to nice memories, the guest left the Promenade of Culture with the gifts from Herzegovina that we distributed among the audience by the youngest “Čapljinka“ members.
