Within the traditional “Days of European Heritage 2024” manifestation of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, a concert by the Miners’ Band from Kakanj was held on the Promenade of Culture. In the same programme, the audience had an opportunity to see the two-time world champions Valentina Vavra and Vedran Marcheta from the “Aster” Dance Club from Sarajevo, and the young talented Club members Etna, Sofija, Luna and Nadine.
The participants of the event took the audience through different styles and cultures with their music and dance.
“Our guests today will prove what it means to be global and to be from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today’s event is filled with combinations of what Bosnia and Herzegovina is and what Bosnia and Herzegovina gives and does to Europe and the world, as well as what we take from the world for our own good,” said Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević at the beginning of the event.
The Kakanj Miners’ Band has been active since 1952, and it is a symbol of the musical tradition and cultural heritage of Kakanj. Its members are of different generations, and this diversity contributes to the orchestra’s unique sound and energy.
The Aster Dance Club was founded in 1986, and until 1992 it operated within the Slobodan Princip – Seljo University Cultural and Artistic Society as one of its numerous sections. After a break in activity since 2000, the Club was reactivated in 2014 under the management of one of its first members, Vedran Marcheta.
This year’s theme of the “Days of European Heritage” manifestation is “Roads, Connections and Networks”, and so far numerous contents have been presented on the Promenade of Culture that promote and nurture the cultural heritage and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
