The “Days of European Heritage 2024” continued last night on the Promenade of Culture in front of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports. Numerous guests were delighted by the one-and-a-half-hour excellent performance and choreography of the Ethno Group “The Keepers” (“Čuvarice”) from Rama, which was founded in 2011 and gathers lovers of musical heritage of the Rama region.
Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević addressed the guests at the very beginning of the event, wishing everyone a nice and pleasant evening in Sarajevo: “I am glad that we are meeting again on the Promenade. I know that you were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the ladies from Rama, as well as the male part of the group, who will support their voices on the instruments tonight. This, I am convinced, will be a night to remember. I wish you a warm welcome! Let’s now enjoy the tonight’s magic!”
“Čuvarice” attracted attention of the public, not only because of their music, but also because of the unusual name, image and choreography that accompany their performances, representing the dance tradition of the region they come from, but also of the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In 2014, they recorded the CD “To My Rama” (“Mojoj Rama”), whereas in 2018 they recorded the album titled “The Girl” (“Divojka”), and in 2023 the album “Tracing the Past” (“Tragom prošlosti”). Last year, they also performed at the “Days of European Heritage” – at the central event organised in Mostar.
