“European Heritage Days 2024”, organised by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, continued on the Promenade of Culture in front of the Ministry building with the performance of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Ekrem Mujkić” from Ilidža.
The members of “Ekrem Mujkić” and all the guests at the Promenade were greeted by minister Sanja Vlaisavljević: “When I see this beauty, the youth, these beautiful young men and women, I am so happy that this Promenade of ours is taking on new dimensions. Young people from Ilidža will present a lot to us today, and we look forward to seeing what magic of roads, connections and networks awaits us,” announced the Minister.
The KUD “Ekrem Mujkić” has been the guardian of tradition and culture since 1951. Today, 45 members of the Society presented themselves with dances and songs. Its member Ema Hajdarević spoke about the work and current events of the Society, warmly greeting the guests: “When the KUD had appeared on the scene, it was called Brotherhood and Unity until 1993, when, in one of the war battles, Ekrem Mujkić was killed and since then the Society has proudly borne his name. Our family, as I can freely call it, has over 90 active members divided into folklore section and folk orchestra. Today, we present ourselves with the games of all three nations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and we are extremely proud of that,” said Hajdarević, who, on behalf of the whole Society, presented minister Vlaisavljević with a symbolic gift.
The KUD introduced itself with the sevdah song titled “Hajde dušo da ashikujemo”, and then the ensemble performed the dances of the Croat population from Kraljeva Sutjeska, the dances of the Serb population from around Teslić, and the dances of the Muslim population from Zvornik.
