On 29 April 2026, the Cultural Dance Impulse program was implemented at the premises of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, on the occasion of World Dance Day.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports with the aim of promoting dance as a universal language that combines emotion, tradition and modernity and enriches everyday life.
The introductory remarks highlighted the historical significance of World Dance Day, which has been celebrated since 1982 in memory of the birth of the founder of modern ballet, Jean-Georges Noverre. The role of dance as an artistic and cultural impulse that transcends all borders, connects generations and nurtures cultural heritage was particularly emphasized.
The Federal Minister of Culture and Sports, Ms. Sanja Vlaisavljević, emphasized the importance of preserving dance traditions and encouraging contemporary dance initiatives in the community.
The highlight of the program was a dance style show, in which members of the Aster Dance Club introduced the audience to the diversity of dance art: from passionate tango and Latin rhythms to energetic hip hop and urban dance expressions. Valentina Vavra and Vedran Marčeta danced the tango and convinced everyone present why they are world champions in the famous dance. The performances illustrated how dance simultaneously preserves tradition and enables creative expression in the modern era.
The event ended with a relaxed gathering with a musical performance by Dejana Hršuma, giving visitors the opportunity to interact and enjoy the atmosphere that dance and music together create.
The Cultural Dance Impulse organized by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports showed that dance remains a powerful symbol of connection, expression and heritage and contributes to the preservation of cultural identity, as it is passed down through generations.
