The “Evening of Croatian Songs” was organized last night by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports in the crowded concert hall of the “St. Joseph” Catholic School Centre in Sarajevo.
The concert was attended, among others, by the retired Auxiliary Bishop of Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Monsignor Dr. Pero Sudar, General Vicar of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese, Monsignor Dr. Slađan Ćosić, First Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in BiH, Monsignor Javier Camanes-Fores, Special Envoy of the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Mate Lončar, and numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps in BiH and high officials from the state, entity and cantonal level.
In her introductory speech, Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević, greeted the guests as follows: “It makes me really happy to host this beautiful gathering tonight. Along with celebrating the “European Heritage Days”, I can’t think of a nobler task than to shed light on the history, culture, and customs of a nation. And tonight we are doing that with the BiH Croats, right here in Sarajevo!
And what is a nation without history, culture and language? It is nothing but a shadow that roams the paths of oblivion. Culture is written just like history, but culture is learned, transmitted and sung. So let us sing tonight, let us be together for good! Let us respect each other!”.
In the musical part of the programme, members of the Catholic School Centre Choir, Cheerleaders of Kiseljak, Monija Jarak Mikulić, Oliver Bevanda, Antonija Batinić, and the band led by maestro Damir Bunoza performed.
