There is an old church in Podhum, in the Klis area, the Neretvica valley, which has been a place of meeting and gathering of the inhabitants of this region since its foundation. The church was demolished in the 1960s.

Although the new church was built in a more attractive location in Žitače, the fervent desire of the faithful was to restore the old church.

Thanks to contributions from benefactors and the support of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the restoration of this church, which is a memory, a museum of history and a cradle of tradition, has begun.

On that occasion, a Holy Mass was celebrated, led by Fr. Ivica Karatović, the parish priest, who thanked all the present for their arrival, support and efforts to restore this church to its former glory.
