21 June – World Music Day

Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.

Plato

World Music Day, celebrated on June 21, reminds us of the power of art that connects people around the world. Music is the universal language of emotions; it erases borders, connects generations and opens up space for togetherness.

This year, we celebrated World Music Day on the Promenade of Culture in front of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, where a rich program presented various musical expressions. The Promenade of Culture is already recognized as a place where music, from traditional melodies to contemporary rhythms, is celebrated in all its forms: through song, dance, orchestral performances and modern interpretations. It is precisely this diversity that shows that music belongs to everyone and that its beauty lies in diversity.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports proudly emphasizes that music enriches our cultural life, encourages creativity and reminds us that culture lives in each of us. We invite citizens to continue to celebrate music – on the Promenade of Culture every Wednesday, in concert halls, on squares, or simply in everyday moments of joy.

Music expresses what cannot be put into words and what cannot remain unsaid.
