On 21 May 2025, a one-day workshop titled “Post-disaster Needs Assessment/PDNA” was held in Sarajevo. The goal of the workshop was to strengthen capacities in the area of damage assessment and strategic planning of post-disaster repairs.
The workshop was led by Žarko Petrović from UNDP Serbia, who presented the PDNA methodology, the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, effective risk management and ways to increase community resilience.
The workshop was attended by representatives of all levels of government and relevant institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, including entity and cantonal ministries, municipal services, civil protection, as well as other actors of local DRR platforms. Azra Tunović participated in the workshop on behalf of the Institute for Monuments Protection at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The workshop was realised within the framework of the Joint Programme “Disaster Risk Reduction for Sustainable Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, an initiative supported and financed by the Government of Switzerland, the United Nations and institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
