We congratulate Lamija Tahmaz on the new national record

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports sends sincere congratulations to the young athlete Lamija Tahmaz (17) on her exceptional sporting success – breaking the 11-year-old triple jump indoor record of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lamija Tahmaz, a member of the “Sarajevo” Athletics Club, achieved a great result at the indoor championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina held in Belgrade, where she set a new national record with a jump of 12.39 meters. With this, she surpassed the previous record held for 11 years by Anđela Kovačević, a member of the “Brotnjo” Athletics Club.

Lamija Tahmaz is a permanent member of the junior and senior national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and last year she became a double state champion in the triple jump in the senior competition – outdoors and indoors. Also, she was a finalist in the triple jump at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports is proud of the successes of young athletes who worthily represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at domestic and international competitions. We believe that this is just one in a series of excellent results that are ahead of Lamia, and we wish her much success in her further sports career and pushing her own limits.
