Tradition and customs at the Promenade of Culture: KUD „Lola“ attracted numerous guests in front of the Ministry

Numerous guests and passers-by had last night an opportunity to enjoy the marvellous performance of the Cultural and Artistic Society “Lola“ from Sarajevo, organised by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports within the “Days of European Heritage“ programme.

“Ladies and gentlemen, dear all who beautified by your presence our Promenade of Culture tonight, what could one say about the Cultural and Artistic Society “Lola“ but that it would be great to celebrate together their 80th birthday in two years. When we look back at what happened in these almost 80 years, we can conclude that it required a great courage to survive through turbulent times, different challenges and changes and remain recognisable not only in Sarajevo, but all around the world. Welcome and enjoy yourself tonight!“, said minister Sanja Vlaisavljević in her introductory address.

Members of the Folklore Group and Youth Folklore Group performed 3 choreographies of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas the Folk Orchestra performed a mixture of dances, and the Female Singing Group performed few songs. In addition, “Lola” members presented a beautiful show of folk costumes.

KUD “Lola“ was founded in 1946 and has been cultivating tradition and customs of the peoples of our country for 78 years already. They now have 9 groups and more than 300 members.
