This continuation brings the story of the unique tradition of central Bosnia – sicanje, an ancient way of tattooing women that has carried a strong symbolism of faith and identity for centuries. Irena Mrnjavac and Nikola Franjić – the authors of the exhibition “Identity” bring the story of women who decided to continue the tradition of the ancient way of tattooing grandmothers, and how identity is transmitted through a mark on the skin.
