The seminar on building capacities for safeguarding the intangible cultural heritagewas organised on Saturday, 8 November 2024 at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Mostar by the Society for Digitalisation of Traditional Cultural Heritage (DTKB) from Široki Brijeg and Anka Raič, International Facilitator for the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Anka Raič presented the detailed work on the legislative and legal framework and activities that advance safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage, with a special focus on the role of the local communities.
Mirela Milićević Šečić, Head of the Cultural Department, participated in the seminar on behalf of the Federal Minister of Culture and Sport. She shared with the other participants her experience in preparing an application for inscription on the UNESCO lists.
The seminar was held as a part of activities marking the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Its organisation was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
Another seminar on the same topic will be held in Široki Brijeg, on 19 November 2024, due to a large interest.
