From 28 to 30 November 2025, Sarajevo was the venue of the 12th Sarajevo Dance Festival, organised by the Sports Dance Club “Astoria.” This Festival, one of the largest dance events in Southeast Europe, gathered the world’s best dancers over three days and featured no fewer than four WDSF World Championships in Latin American and Standard dances, including competitions for dance couples and solo dancers.

Sarajevo thus became a true dance capital for the weekend, welcoming competitors, coaches, and audiences from across the globe. The Festival’s programme offered a rich repertoire – from modern and contemporary dance, through classical ballet, hip hop, street dance, break dance, jazz, and show dance, all the way to Latin show and acrobatic forms.

Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, Anita Vlašić and Semira Cheikh Dommar attended the first festival gala evening, held on Friday, 28 November 2025, at the “Hills” Hotel, highlighting support for the development of dance art and international cultural cooperation.
