Rugby – The power of togetherness, sportsmanship and fair play

Although the United Nations have not officially declared any date as thWorld Rugby Day, 27 August is cited as a significant date for this sport, because on that date in 1871 the first association of rugby clubs was founded.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports joins in promoting rugby, a sport that symbolizes courage, team spirit, respect and unwavering sports ethics.

Rugby is much more than a game, it is a school of life that teaches perseverance, togetherness and fair play. As a sport that nurtures a balance of strength and strategy, rugby connects different people and cultures in a special way and breaks down barriers between nations.

This day is an opportunity to remember the importance of sports as a universal language that promotes tolerance, inclusion and a healthy lifestyle, but also to acknowledge all the rugby players in Bosnia and Herzegovina who, with their dedicated work and passion, contribute to the development of this noble game.

The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports continues to support sports teams and individuals, in the belief that investing in sports means investing in youth, togetherness, and a better society.
