On 17 February, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports held a working meeting with the Director of the Agency for Personal Data Protection Dragoljub Reljić and Assistant Director Samira Čampara.
On behalf of the Ministry, the director of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments Robert Stergar, assistant to the Minister Jasna Mavrić, personal data protection officer Senad Hašić and employee Marko Tadić attended the meeting.
The topic of the meeting was the implementation of the new Personal Data Protection Act, which was adopted for the purpose of harmonizing the domestic legal framework with European standards, especially with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The meeting discussed the obligations of the Ministry in the process of harmonizing with the new legal framework, with special emphasis on the role of the personal data protection officer, mapping of processes that include processing of personal data and conducting an assessment of the impact of processing on data protection.
The representatives of the Agency stated the importance of proper record keeping on the processing of personal data.
It was concluded that the Ministry will take the necessary steps in order to fully harmonize its work with the new legal regulations, in cooperation with the Agency for the Protection of Personal Data in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
