The Promenade of Culture in front of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports became on Wednesday, 25 June 2025 the stage for a true celebration of the spirit – a cultural programme dedicated to the literature of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the timeless beauty of words. Gathered in the heart of the City, visitors stepped away, at least for a moment, from everyday life and immersed themselves in a world of stories, verses and music that erases the boundaries between eras and spaces.
Through the program To the Rhythm of Literature, the audience had the opportunity to feel the power of Bosnian and Herzegovinian literary diversity: from lyrical passages to prose images, from restrained emotions to sung refrains. This cultural mosaic was not just a reminder of the history of literature, it was a gift to creativity that grows, changes and never stops speaking.
The poet Amela Mustafić, author of several translated poetry collections, opened the hearts of the audience with an interpretation of her poems “The Road” and “The Rural Poem”. Her verses echoed along the Promenade like whispers of the homeland and the mature wisdom of time.
The journalist, publicist and writer, winner of numerous awards, Ruždija Adžović, took the guests on a journey through his stories, sharing excerpts from the novel “The Necklace from Şanliurfa”, the short story “Gone with the Bihor” and the book “Sidran – to live and to witness the era”. Every word was a bridge to the past, a mirror of the era and a testimony to the human struggle for the beauty of art.
In the musical part of the programme, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy the composed poetry of famous poets Aleksa Šantić, Jovan Jovanović Zmaj and Mak Dizdar. Emotional interpretations of the poems “Što te nema”, “Pjesmo moja” and “Modra rijeka” in the masterful performances of Vlado Podany, brought to the Promenade true anthems of feelings that further strengthened the unbreakable connection between poetry and music, voice and soul.
This day will not only remain written in the calendar of events, but also in the memories of all those who witnessed how words were transformed into celebration, poetry into an embrace, and literature into a mirror of the collective soul of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
