The Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the “Amadeus” Foundation, and the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts Sarajevo will organize a Christmas–New Year concert on 17 December, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the Bosnian Cultural Center.
At the press conference held ahead of the concert, Minister Sanja Vlaisavljević emphasized that it is both a pleasure and an honor to share good news together with Maestro Emir Nuhanović, representing the joint efforts of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts Sarajevo.
“As Nuhanović is a new member of the Board of Directors—actually a returning member—many wonderful ideas have emerged that connect the Ministry with the Foundation. This proves that the Foundation and the Ministry are one body, necessarily in a partnership, and that we can and must organize activities that will showcase our joint work,” said Minister Vlaisavljević.
She highlighted that tomorrow’s concert is the first one the Ministry of Culture and Sports is organizing together with one of its foundations.
“It will be an opportunity to show how much beauty we can create, if only we want to. Maestro Nuhanović is not only a maestro, but also a practical man, someone who lives art in every possible way—even through organizing events like this,” Vlaisavljević noted, stressing that the event also has a humanitarian dimension.
Speaking about the Foundation for Musical, Stage, and Visual Arts, Emir Nuhanović said that the Foundation will not simply distribute money:
“As a Foundation, with the right and social responsibility based on the entrusted funds we manage, we want to do something better. We want to change and improve our work. We will not be satisfied with waiting for the annual grant; we will also apply for additional funds from European foundations and other ministries, whether local or state institutions,” Nuhanović stated.
“One of the first projects we will undertake is the establishment of an Instrument Fund. All instruments, both personal and donated, will be given to the Foundation for Musical Activities, because I believe the Foundation under the Ministry will be able to manage them better,” Nuhanović explained.
He clarified that some instruments will be donated as permanent property, while others will be given for use for a certain period until the user is able to purchase their own instrument. Tomorrow’s concert will also be an opportunity for donating instruments. On this occasion, Nuhanović invited citizens who have instruments at home that they do not use to donate them at the concert. Additionally, conditions for donating instruments will be ensured throughout the upcoming period.
The program of concert will be adapted to the upcoming holidays, it was emphasized at the press conference.
