Nusret Čolo, Expert Advisor in the Sector for Cultural and Historical Heritage and Culture, attended the First Meeting of the Advisory Council for the Implementation of the Extended Partial Agreement of the Council of Europe on the Establishment of Cultural Routes for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was held on 3 October 2024, beginning at 12:00 p.m., in the Building of Friendship between Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the aforementioned meeting, the Chair of the Advisory Council for Bosnia and Herzegovina (Dragana Elez Trifković, Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH), the Co-chair (Nusret Čolo, Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports), and the Secretary to the Council (Aleksandra Mihić, Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH) were unanimously elected.

After having made changes and amendments thereto, the participants adopted the Rules of Procedure of the Advisory Council.

Furthermore, they discussed potential and emerging topics for new potential cultural routes from Bosnia and Herzegovina that could be created and presented to the Council of Europe, such as:

  • medieval tombstones,

● medieval royal cities,

● “Franciscana” cultural route,

● drywall construction route,

● route of the European epigraphic heritage and

● European folklore heritage festival route.

Bearing in mind that the first meeting was also constitutive, and that most of the members of the Advisory Council are newly elected members, it was concluded that all members must prepare more seriously and familiarise themselves with all cultural routes in order to constructively and extremely professionally discuss the mentioned topics at the next meeting for potential cultural routes that could be crucial for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
